A correspondent of the New Rotterdam Couratit writes from London on December 23rd:-Some days ago I let you know that 1.500.or 1,600 Mackays would hold a truly monster assemblage at Glasgow under the presidency of Lord Heay, This, the greatest clan gathering of the century, has since taken place with Lord Reay at its head.
Lord Reay made a speech full of pleasant allusions to the clan, and read out a letter from a Mackay of high position Netherlands. The Dutch Premier excused him- who has attained to the premiership of the self through Lord Resy. This was a claim for $19 alleged to be due to plaintiff on account of making up some dress materials to the order of the defendant.
The plaintiff said he was a partner of the Chen. Lel shop in Lyndhurst Terrace, The defendant came to his shop with some cloth and asked him to make it up into two dresses for a lady. The defendant said the dresses ordered for a lady, named. Maria, living in Cochrane Street. He went to the defendant's shop but did not take any material or measure- ments for a dress. He went to the shop simply to tell the defendant to call at the indy's, house, which be did and she gave him 14 yards of cloth to make the dresies. He (defendant) went twice to the shop for the Indy. He admitted writing his name on the defendant's card. He acted for the lady because she could not speak English. In accordance with the wishes expressed by the shareholders at the last general meeting, the Directors endeavoured to obtain a modification of terms of the lease, but were unsuccessful, The house was closed on the 31st October Jast and the furniture removed to the new premises, since which date the only expense incured bas been the monthly rental and the wages of a watchman. Every effort has been, and is being made to sublet the premises.

Since the opening of part of the building in May the results have been encouraging, and indicate that the losses sustained hitherto in the working bave been solely due to the unfortunate tenure of Craigieburn.
FINANCE. Payments to the contractors and other havd

The reason of this difficulty, as stated last year, in... bungalow was found utterly unsuitable and that the original proposition, to add to the old undesirable, and would, besides, have eventually entalled greater expenditure than the complete and commodious Hotel now bullt.

These amount to $6,000; at 63 per cent, per annum, to be paid off in five years; interest commenced from 31st December last, and is payable half-yearly.
