5 o'clock. Business is gradually improving, although rates continue steadily to decline: Banks are now freely offered at 183, but at present there is actually no demand for shares. We hear of a few Docks having changed hands at 63 per cent, premium for the end of the month, and there are no sellers at 64; but this stock is also, for the time being, on the shelf. Sales of Steamboats have been booked to-day at from 391 to 40, the stock closing wonk, with sellers at 40. China Sugars have been done at 229 and 230, and at the latter rate shares are still on offer. Panjoms were in demand this forenoon at 13, a number of shares finding purchasers at that rate, but later on the quotation weakened, and at the close 125th was the current rate. There were some Inquiries after Land Investment shares at from 11 to 112, but no actual transactions were reported. In other stocks nothing has come under our observation.
