The Egyptian troops under Colonel Wode house have occupied Abu-Simbel pass and thus checked the march of the dervishes. The dervishes are massing their forces and making preparations to attack the Egyptians. General Grenfell has gone to Abu-Simbel.

CINCINNATR, July 14th.

The town of Princeton, in Butler county, O., and about seven miles from Hamilton, was blown away by a terrific windstorm that swept through that section on Sunday afternoon. There were about thirty houses, including a sawmill' and schoolhouse, in the place. All are gone. The storm was general throughout the section, and much damage is reported. No further particulars are yet abiainable, but it is believed that no lives were lost, although several persons were injured.

MUNICH, July 14th, Munich was startled yesterday by two suicides, that of Lady Acton in Lake Tegerensee, and Count Waldemar Von Blumenthal, the Prussian military attache, at his residence in this city. Since the suicide of King Ludwig in the lake of Sternberg, 'three years ago, no such excitement has been known here. The first news that came was from Tegerensee and was to the effect that Lady Acton, whose husband died very recently, had cast herself into the lake. She was staying close to the shores of the lake. Yesterday afternoon she took a small boat, a5 was her custom, to row out upon the lake, and suddenly she sprang into the water and sank.

Munich had hardly time to discuss the suicide at Tegerenice before the announcement was made that Count Waldemar von Blumenthal had been discovered dead, 'having committed suicide. Hewas one of the most popular members of the diplomatic corps bere, young and hand- some and gifted. No reason can be found for his act, though it is rumored that his suicide is connected with the death of Lady Acton. Later, reports say that he took his life after hearing news from Tegerensee of the suicide of Lady Acton..

Lady Acton was a sister of the German. Minis- ter at Washington, and the daughter of Count Arcosailey of Munich. She was married in 1865 to, Lord Acton. He took a prominent part in the agitation started in the Bavarian capital in 1871, which resulted in the establishment of the old Catholics as a body. He was very active in the Catholic controversy that arose after the decrees of the Vatican council relating to Papal Infallibility. Mr. Gladstone, whenever passing through Bavaria, made his home with the Actons at Munich or in the Bavarian highlands, and Lord Acton had much to do la assisting the great English leader in his celebrated pamphlet on the Vatican decrees.

The International Socialist Congress opened to-day, there being present 188 French and 189 foreign delegates. Of the latter eighty-two were Germans, and include eleven members of the German Reichstag. M. Leibknecht, one of the Reichstag representation, addressed the Con-- gress, and declared that the workers in Germany and the workers in France were united. This Congress, which was not a theoretic union, would result in an alliance which would exercise great influence throughout the entire world.

The Temps says: Cipher telegrams have been discovered which prove that General Boulanger was at the head of a pint to march upon the Elysee Palace, and that several officers of high rank had promised him their support. The Temps lurther says the charges of embezzle meat against Boulanger relate to the purchase of camp bedatends and other supplies for the trops and to the malversation of funds of the War Ministry. It enys that the Generai is accused of using the funds of the War Ministry to buy shares in the Military Club and of keeping the shares thus bought.

BERLIN, July 16th. While watching a thunder-storm Sunday, King Charles of Wurtemburg was prostrated by a lightning bolt, which struck a short distance away. He remained unconscious for several minutes, but was not permanently injured.

NEW YORK, July 16th. Professor Hogan, the Michigan aeronaut, made his third trial trip from Brooklyn in Professor Campbell's air-ship this morning, ascending at 10 o'clock. The ship could not be made to face the wind, and the wheel intended to raise and lower it broke and fell. The balloon remained in sight till 12:30 o'clock, when the aeronant was seen dangling from the meshes. At midnight. the balloon was again seen high over Attoria, Professor Hogan's fate is unknown.

M. Deroulede, M. Laguerre and other Boulan- giat members of the Chamber of Deputies as- sembled before the statue of Strasburg to-day intending to hold a meeting. A crowd of several thousand persons bad gathered, and M. Deroulede was about to begin a speech when a police com- missary named Clementi forced his way through Whitechapel horrors. A large number of persons were arrested. Laguerre and Deroutede, during the scrimmage, jumped into a cab and were driven to the office of Za Presse, where a crown gathered and indulged noisy demonstrations. The police cleared the stredia and made many more arrestá,

The incident has caused a sensation throughout the city, and dangerous developments are feared.

· Peking, 3rd August, 1889. The news about the bursting of the southern bank of the Yellow River at Chinng-kui, reached you before we heard of it at Peking. The Com. missioner, Chang Yao, although nearer to the place than Sheng Teotal of Cheloo, wired here on the 31st ultimo, and declared the breach to be 300 chang in width.

The Pei-ho also burst its west bank four days in the same place where the breach took
