Heron and Smyth, resident magistrates, for taking part in an illegal meeting in Boyle on the 24th of June last in furtherance of an unlawful conspiracy to defent the ends of justice and prevent the admini- stration of the law, came before Mr. O'Connor Morris, County Court Judge of Roscommon, on October 27th, Mr. Carson appeared for the Crown. His Honour, in giving judgment, said he felt bound by the decisions of the Superior Courts to hold that conspiracy had been proved, and confirmed the sentence, but reduced the term of imprisonment to two months, and ordered that Mr. O'Kelly should be treated as a first-class misdemeanant.
