PARIS, April 21st. In the Senate M. Floquet referring to the proposed revision of the constitution declared that it was necessary, to undeceive the masses and regain their confidence and that Government will combat dictatorship with republican prin- ciples. There was an anti-Boulangist demen- stration of students here today, they paraded the streets for some time uninterruptedly when suddenly a counter-demonstration of the admirers of General Boulanger emerged from another street and both the processionisis met and a struggle casued during which many were injured; a force sent by the authorities scattered the processionists.

In this for a second time the Deceased Wife's Sisters valley the boys wear a curious kind of top boots, Bill by a majority of (ky-seven voles.

ever this covering may be called, it reaches to the knee, where it is turned down in a deep fold, and it is made of human hair plaited together, and so coarse and rough as to give the boys the appearance of young bears.-Throughout Chekiang the men seem to wear a delightfully convenient basket packet lied round their waiste by a straw girdle and hanging down behind. In tiffs they commonly carry a knife, a pipe or wild flowers. But it will be the very things for "luncheon," so i am-delighted to have find one presented to me in-day by the head of a lea hong, who took us to see his house. It had carved doors, and all one end of the guest room was carved by Fung Hwa men, five of whom he had in his employ. All the best Ningpo carving, is done by men from this town. The beams projecting beyond the walls to support the roof outsile were so quaintly and interestingly carved, I could not help once
Customs, of seven nationalities, have arrived here. One wonders which language will be adopted at the students' mess, as there is not one Englishman among the new arrivals. The mis- sionary body has lost also several of its mem- bers, Afe. and Mrs. Noble of the American Board Mission having left last week for home. From the Methodist Episcopal Mission, Mr. and Mrs. Taft have gone home, and Mies Sears is expected to leave next month.
