THIS DAY.

4 o'clock p.m. : Although the attention of share brokers has been generally taken up with the usual settlements-which, by the way, we are glad to hear, have been much more satis-NINGPO, British steamer, 761, R. Crawford, 30th factory, than was anticipated-a fair anfount of business has been reported. Banks are rather firmer with cash buyers. at 180 per cent, premium, and shares havo. actually changed hands at 183 for January 31st. Docks are also in slightly better fagor, with buyers at $5 per cent. prem- ium; but, as far as we can learn, no shares have been forthcoming at that rate. A few Steamboats have been sold at 48 per share premium, but sellers at the price stil rule the market. China Sugar stock has undergone several rapid changes since we last wrote. Late on Saturday business was actually put through at 126, 126, 127 and finally at 128. This morning further tran- sactions have been booked at 128, and as there are still further buyers at that figure, an increased rate will doubtless, be tendered before the end of the day. Nothing in Luzons has come under our notice, but a demand exists.for a certain number of shares at 90. No other busi- ness need be specially referred to.
