Three of the men sentenced to be hanged for the murder of the joyce family arrived in Galway this evening under a strong guard. They were hooted at by a large crowd. The Wearmouth went ashore half an hour after imidnight. The gale and snow storm were terrific. The crew hung by the vessel till o'clock yesterday, when she broke up. The crew numbered twenty men. Sixteen were drowned in trying to reach land. The vessel was owned by J. S. Barwick of Sunderland. She did not belong to any line.

The authorities of Aberdeenshire have agreed to send a detachment of police to the island of Skye if the Commissioners of Invernesshire will W hold themselves responsible for their expenses. In the meantime, defensive arrangements on the island are proceeding with. The letter also declares the prisoners will prove that the Porte approved their action from first to last, and that the Khedive also, long before the commencement of the war, wavered between the foreign party and the Nationalists, but that after the arrival of Dervisch Pasha in Egypt, he acquiesced in the early phases of resistance.
