Commercial.
THIS DAY, FOUR P.. To-day's share transactions have been of the most insignificant character; in fact, no business worthy of special notice has been reported. There are cash buyers of Banks at 116 percent, premium, but holders decline to deal at that price. In our last report we stated that a demand for "China" Traders at 1,550 ex, div, had not been met." We should have written" Union Insurances. The last named stock is wanted at the above quotation, but there are no sellers. Hongkong Fires are rather weaker at 925, with no buyers at that rate. Docks are also slightly weaker, although a few shares are wanted at 50 per cent.
premium. If buyers could be induced to
offer 51 a large business might be done. Further small sales of Luzons at 118 have been booked, and there are still enquirers willing to purchase at the quotation. A few China Sugars might be placed at 158, if holders cared to sell.
