Banksian Medal Won By Mrs. Eu Tong-sen

THE PROBLEM OF FINDING A SUITABLE SITE NEXT YEAR FOR THE FLOWER SHOW was mentioned by Lt.- Col H. B. L. Dowbiggin, O.B.E., speaking at the annual ex- hibition of the Hongkong Horticultural Society which opened yesterday at St. John's Place." He also appealed for more members, and referred to the hope expressed by His Excellency the Governor at the last annual show that more "non-growing" members might join.

The show this year is a dis- tion to our Show Sheds" and "Ex- tinct success, "the hundreds of hibits, to. the advertisers in the beautiful exhibits testifying programme and to the Hongkong to the high standard reached by amateur horticulturists in the Colony. Visitors flocked in large numbers to the Show throughout the day, His Ex- cellency and Lady Northcote arriving in the afternoon and staying till very late.

Lady Northcote presented the prizes to the successful competi- tors. Mrs. Eu Tong-sen won the Banksian Medal awarded by the Royal Horticultural Society, with Mrs. F. C. Hall a close runner-up.
