The market opened 3/8, of a cent higher for all deliveries as 'com- pared with Monday's closing quotations.
Early in the moming the market was quiet büt very steady. Later, on the absence of sellers the market staged a sharp ad- vance and business was done at 29-1/4 for October-December.
At 4 pm, Singapore was quoting October-December 29-1/8 buy- ers and January/March 29 buyers-sellers reserved,

Prices to-day steadily declined on lower foreign cables and com- mission selling and liquidation, consequent on the more promising aspects for peace. The decline was further accentuated by weak- ness at Winnipegand a poor export demand. With the various fea- tures embodied in the Agricultural Act, margin between Canadian and domestic prices may continue to widen.
