LONDON, Aug. 30 (Reuter)— On the London Stock Exchange there was general Improvement in prices with somewhat freer trading in loading Issues as a result of the more optimistic view of the international situa- tion.

levels and industrials were also substantially higher.

A more confident feeling is also prevailing in the other markets as portrayed by the decline in prices in recognized "war" commodities, including wheat and sugar,' while sterling was stronger against the dollar, closing at 43825, compared with 4.28 yesterday.
