The market opened from 3/16 to 5/16 of a cent higher for all #17,10 deliveries as compared with Monday's closing rates,

Throughout the day steady conditions prevalled in sympathy with advices received from London and New York,
Substantial buying-orders for "spot" Rubber from New York at workable limits were in evidence, whilst enquiries for futures by dealers and speculators were impressive. This fact furnishes an- other proof for the better sentiment, caused by an alround much improved business-cutlook in UB.A. as evidenced by the sharp up- ward trend of the Stock-markets in New York.
However, it is significant that adverse factors such as uncertain- ties with regard to the fourth quarter quota-decision on the 25th instant, fears of labour-troubles in the Motor-car Industry, the continuance of the international political tension seem to be entirely" ignored at the moment.
In some authoritative. Rubber-circles the opinion prevails that the permissible export-quota for October-December might possibly be increased by 6 per cent, in view of the excellent statistical posi- tion for Crude Rubber and by ah additional 10 per cent.," if the Anglo-American Barter agreement will be carried out, but even in this event it is not believed that the market will be adversely affected to any appreciable extent,
Late in the afternoon prices advanced by 1/16, the market clos- ing with a very steady undertone.

-The market continued on its upward path, although prices ad- vances to-day were somewhat more conservative. The market ruled firm on good buying and covering, stimulated once again by the strength of Securities.
