RUDE SHOCK FOR MACAO RACE EXCURTIONISTS: GOVERNOR IS HELD UP
Excursionists to the Macao Races suffered a rude shock when, on returning to port by the sa. Taishan about 9.20 o'clock last night, they were kept aboard, some as late as 10.15 p.m., as a result of the newly instituted passport regulations. Among passengers held up was HLE the Governor of Macao, Dr. Barbosa
As one police officer explained, passport examina- tion is common to almost every port of the world, and it is time that Hongkong stepped into line. As the passengers from Macao saw it, the great majority of whom left by the Taishan yesterday morning for the races, and were only returning to their homes, this eventuality was both unexpected and of an uncom fortable nature.

It is believed the arrest was made in connection with Nazi activities. 12 in the, Argentine.
