MAGNIFICENT BOWLING BY E. L. GOSANO AND H L OZORIO, the pair that has practically carried the team on its shoulders throughout the season, in the face of a meagre score of 99 by their own batsmen, enabled Club de Recreio to beat Royal Navy by 40 runs in their final league match and thus win the championship of the senior cricket league for the first time sluce Its inception.

It was a great performance on their part, in view of the fact that Navy were playing at least four of their regular batsmen und could not be considered to have Gelded a weak side. Recrelo have participated in the senior league only three times, in 1934-5. 1937-8 and 1938-9.
