The following letter was re- ceived by the Hon. Secretary of the British Fund for the Reller of Distress in Chhis from" the Chairman of the Emergency Refuges, Council:---

Dear Sir:-At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Ener- gency Refugee Council held last Thursday, a recommendation was passed requesting the British Fund to allocate $50,000 (Hongkong eur- rency) to the Emergency Refugee Council for the provision of drugs for various mission hospitals and mission stations in Southern China.

We have received an appeal for help in Kwangsi Province, describing the plans of the Government, and the great uumbers of people who are being moved into the interior, and we have also received re- ports from misionaries in various places of their great need for drugs to deal with malaria und

other simple diseases amongst refugees pass- ing through.

We are most anxious to get drugs into the hands of responsible, peo- ple in Kwangsi as soon as possible.
