SHIPBUILDING OUTPUT FIGURES for the Rivers Tyne and the Wear, the two great shipbuliding centres of North-East Eng- land, show that tonnage constructed in 1938 was several thou- sand tons greater than in the preceding year, which in its turn was higher than 1936.
