American Efforts resembling gangster methods have been used by a gang of unknown men to prevent the Bombay Station of All-India Radio (the Indian B.B.C.) trom continuing a series of broad- cast talks on the Mahratt! poet Narmad.
Following a talk on the works of the poet the station was flooded with anonymous letters, many ap- parently from listeners of orthodox religious views, protesting agulast the radical doctrines advocated by Narmad, and threatening serious. consequences, even murder, if the series of talks was continued.
Subsequently one of the broad- casting officials. Mr. C. C. Mehta, was "taken for a ride" by unknown men who lured him into their car under a false pretext. He was beat-
