MAIDS DOFF CAPS
The British maid, after three centuries, has won มิ battle. She has discarded her cap...
The National Uniori of Domestic Workers has laid down this rule; "The wearing of caps should not be required."
The Union naa laid down, some other rules 100. One is that maids should have contracts. Another is that the contract should state the precise. name by which the mald wishes to be addressed.
Regulations of the Union in- dicate that it is preferable to call the maid "Miss Smith," for instance, rather than merely 'Smith,"
Limitation of hours, fixed and regular meal times and bedroom privacy are other regulations de- manded by the Union.
It is further stipulated that girls over 18 must get 18 shillings a week if they "live in," and they must get two weeks' vacation.
