Among the many interesting people who boarded the R. M. S. Empress of Japan, homeward bound, yesterday was Mr. Richard Adlard of Salem, Oregon. Mr. Adlard was an Exchange Student, 1937-38, from Oregon State College, Corvallis, to Lingnan University. Canton.

If Interest on shipboard was, perhaps, centred very much on the members of the World Sindent Delegation, also ready to sail for home after an extended tour through China, Mr. Adlard was hardly neglected by the many people who had come to appreciate his presence in Canton and at Lingnan through some of the most trying moments In the history of the city and of the University.
