Same Ticket Wins Two Sweep Prizes

The sensational win of Oak Bay (Mr. A. W. Raymond) in the first race of the day to pay the handsome return of $431.30, the big- rest dividend of the meeting and the record-breaking run by Court- ing Eve in the second race, over six furlongs when the pony clocked. 1 min. 16 secs, against the previous best of 1.16.3 by Lancashire Chips, were the main features of the first day of the Sixth Extra Race meet- ing at Happy Valley on Saturday.

Another incident worthy of note is that the lucky holder of ticket No. 904 won the first prize in two races in succession-the second race when the prize money was $1393 and the third race when the return was $1480.36.

Mr. H. C. Pih rad another successful meeting and the best Enish of the day was seen in the penultimate race when a short head se- parated the first and second ponies with the same distance between the second and third, The Fel-Ying-Election Time combination paid
