JAPANESE DETAINED ON CHARGES OF ESPIONAGE

Shanghai, April 28 Anxiety has been spread among the 1,659 Japanëse in Northern Sarhallen by Soviet arrests, according to a Harbin report.

About 38 Japanese are known to have been detained to date. many of them as charges of espionage. The victims include 14 employees of the North Saghalien Petroleum Company and eight workers of the Japan Coal Mintar Company.
