According to a Chinese report, the volume of legal tender notes in circulation has decreased to same extent in order to further strengthen the credit of Govern- ment banks. Meanwhile, the volume of notes issued by banks other than the Central Bank, the Bank of China and the Bank of Communi- cations, remains, more or less, the same.
