Changing Values » Causes World-Wide Disturbances
The Department of Agricultural Economics, Nanking University, has' recently published in, "Economic Facts," a discussion of the gold problem which is of special interest in view of current American, and European controversies regarding the price of gold and the return to the gold standard. It also has significance for China for, since November 1935, China has virtually axed the gold value of the National yuan by controlling foreign ex- change rates.
The study shows that since 1913. the value of gold in terms of com- modities has changed in about the same way in China as in England and, the United States. In spite of differences in bank management, tarif policies, currencies, trade
