the charge. Evidence' was given by Sergeant Pennell to the effect Taylor, that on July 29, he was on duty at 11.30 p.m. and noticed defen- dant and friend in EL car. The car rounded the Peddar Street corner recklessly and the driver began parking, also in the same manner. Witness went up the driver to caution him but defen- dant acted in an aggressive man- ner, and said "He can't do any- thing to us. I am a lawyer from Wilkinson and Grist."
Defendant then told witness to look out, Witness went on to ask the driver for his licence, but de- fendant again acted very aggres- sively saying "Dont show it to him."
Witness stated that he tolorated the defendant's, talk but when defendant "pushed his hand away he arrested him. At this stage the defendant asked for an ad- journment so that he could in- struct A solicitor. His Worship remanded the case for 24 hours. Ball was fixed at $25.

Before the Acting Chief Justice, Mr. Justice O. G. Alabaster, yester- day the sequel to the seizure by the Chinese Maritime Customs at Shanghai of 100 cases of opium. valued at £17,000 in 1930 which resulted in a claim brought by the owners to recover £10,000 from the carriers, was continued at the Supreme Court.
