MINING NEWS
Nine mining companies have ordered mills for their properties so far this year, according to a report recently issued by the Chamber of Mines of the Philip- pines. Most of these mills will be in operation by the end of the year, it is reported. Three new milk were built and placed, in operation during 1936. Total num- ber of mills now operating in the Islands is 10 with two large and many small placer properties add- ing to the total yield of gold pro- dured in Manila.
The following companies have announced that mill equipment has been ordered and is being in- stalled.
Lepanto "Consolidated Mining Company, a copper and gold pro- perty, is installing a 300 ton plant which will be in operation within the next 60 days. All equipment and machinery has been placed on the property.
A mill with a rated capacity of 200 tons daily has been ordered by
the Mindanao Mother Lode Mines, Inc. while the Surigao Consolidat- ed Mining Company has 'placed an order for a 250 ton plant.
officials of Mineral Resources stated that some of the equipment for their 150 ton plant has been re- ceived in the Islands and the anal shipment of machinery for the mill will be here by the end of July. They expect to commence milling before the end of this year.
