At the meeting of the Urban Council to be, held to-morrow afternoon the Chairman, pursuant to notice. will move:-

"That in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of "the Pub, lle Health (Food) Ordinance, 1935, the Urban Council makes the fol- lowing amendements of the head- mg "Dairles and Milk Shops" and the by-laws set forth thereunder in the Schedule to the bald Ordin-

1. The heading "Dairies and Milk Shops is amended by the insertion of the words "Sule of Milk generally and" at the Com-

mencement thereof.

2. The following by-law is - serted, as by-law 1d immediately after by-law 1:-

1A. On and after 1st July, 1938, bu person shall sell or expose for sale and no dairyman shall purvey any milk other than pasteurised

milk.

There was a very large and re- presentative gathering present at the Police Recreation Club on Saturday night when opportunity was taken to bid farewell to three popular and highly respected. members of the HK. Police Force, Mr. Timothy Murphy, Assistant Director of Criminal Intelligence (Crime), Mr. Peter Grant, Assis. tant Superintendent of Po'ice (Quards) and Inspector Stewart Logan, Divisional Inspector (Eus- tern district)-who are leaving for Home on retirement within a few days.

Over 150 persons sat down to dinner, and the Inspector General of Police (Hon. Mr. T. H King). presided.

Among the guests present were the Hon. Mr. C. G. Alabaster.. OBE, K.C. (Attorney General), Mr. J. A. Fraser (Crown Solicitor), Mr. W. Schofield (First Magis- rate); Mr. E. I.
