In replying, the Hon. Dr. Li, who spoke in Chinese, said: Gentle- men, I am grently indebted to the Chinese merchants of Hong Kong as well as to the past and present Directors of the Tung Wah Hosp!- tal and the Po Leung Kuk, for their kindness in entertaining me this evening.

I am happy that my appoint- ment as a Chinese member of the Legislative Council has given xo much pleasure to my friends. very much appreciate the honour and distinction given me, although I feel that I do not deserve them. I am aware that the honour car- ries a great responsibility and with it I become the servant of the pub ile in general and the Chinese community in particular. It will be my endeavour to serve both the Government end the public to the best of my ability.

On Wednesday 12th May the General Post Office, Kowloon Central Post Office and ail Branch Post Offices will be open from 7.30 am. to noon for the sale of Coronation Stamps and other business excopt Money Orders.
There will be one collection from the pillar boxes, one delivery of ordinary correspondence ae on Sundays and one delivery of registeroi correspondence at 11 a.m.
All letters bearing Coronation Stamps posted in the ordinary posting boxes at General Post Office and Kowloon Central Post Office unly, before Midnight Wednesday 18th, will be date-stamped 12th May.
The Public are reminded that the postage on Brinted Papers, Commercial Papers, Samples and Small Packets must be fully prepaid. Insufficiently prepaid Printed Papers, etc. are NUT forwarded.
