SATURATION POINT
The last Supplementary Estimate for the Navy added two cruisers, one aircraft carrier, a flotilla of nine destroyers, and four sub- marines to the building programme, for the financial year.
While it is possible that another Supplementary Estimate may make further additions to the build- ing programme as regards cruisers and light craft, is felt that saturation point has for the time being nearly been reached in the construction of such vessels,
It is thought probable, however, that a new Supplementary Est- mate may add one and probably two capital ships to the programme for the financial year. The pro- gramme already contains two such ships.
