London, Oct. 27. In a speech at the Navy League dianer in London to-night, the First Lord of the Admiráltý an- nounced that the King had decided that the two new battleships which were now being laid down should bear names of King George Fifth and the Prince of Wales.

In naming one of the ships after the recently devased Sovereign, His Majesty was creating a new pre- cedent, but Sir Samuel Hoare sald that he believed the decision re- garding both names would give Kreat satisfaction to the navy and Indeed, to the whole country and Empire.
