PRIZES PRESENTED
Nearly 150 people attended the "At Home" given by the Kowloon Indian Tennis Club on Saturday
afternoon when occasion" was taken to present tennis prizes won in Club tournaments and the "" Division Hung Kong Tennis League shield which Was won by the KIT.C. for the first time since the inception of the trophy.
Members add guests witnessed. the final of the Club singles ten- nis championship played between S.A. Hussain and Ardos Khan holder). Khan won in four sets. the scares in his favour reading. 4—6, "6-4, 6-3. 8-8. At certain states of the game. It was a dour struggle with some splendid long rallies, Khan won mainly by his steadiness, Hussain had an attack of cramp after the third set but gainely fought on to the end.
A singles exhibition between the versatile cousins. S.A. Rumjann, former Colony titlist, and H.D.. Rumjuhn, brought forth rounds of
applause from. delighted specta- tors. S.A. won the first set at 7-5 after H.D. had led 4-3. The se- cond set was abandoned owing to falling light with S.A. leading 4-3. Both Rumjahns played very well.. S.A. especially bringing off many wonderful returns both forehand and backhand.

In calling upon Mrs. Vaswani to present the trophles. Mr. Mahan Singh said Ladies and gentlemen, on behalf of the K.I.T.C. I wel- come you all to this occasion on which we have gathered to cele- brate. This is the first time that our Club has won the champion- ship of the "C" Division of the Hong Kong Tennis League. I think I am right in saying that this is the first occasion in the his- tory of this league that any non- Chinese club has won the cham- pionship since its inception. We awe this success to our players and they had really tried their best to win the championship. I am not going to detain you with a long speech but I would ke on behalf of the Club to thank Lt-Col. Bre- wer and officers of the 1/8 Punjab Regiment for the services of their band which has added so much to the success of this occasion. I also thank the Hong Kong Tennis League for granting us $35 towards the purchase of medals for mem-. bers of the "C" team and also to Mr. M.A. Khan, our Vice-President for a donation of $25 towards this fund. I thank the players who have participated in exhibition matches this afternoon and once again I thank you all for your at- tendance. (Applause).
