or the late Mr. Thomas Lay, senior assistant superintendent of Mals, whose death occurred on Sunday night. took place yesterday, the remains being interred in the Protestant Cemetery. A large gathering was present as the graveside to pay their last respects. Rev. L 1 Nash, Aeting Headmaster of the Diocesan Boys' School "conducted the burial rites.

In answer to Mr. Murphy, wit- ness stated that he had always kept his revolver since July 1, in all ports including Hong Kong.

Witness said that he understood the captain's orders to include Hong Kong and all ports.
