DINNER SUITS
Strictly tailored sults for the spring, in men's sultings, light tweeds, and Krey flannel have narrow collars, rather wide lapels, and slightly padded shoulders whose width accentuates the slimness of the hip line and straight narrow skirt. Most of them are single-breasted, or fas- tened with a link, and the blouses worn with them. may be of bright check taffetas, finished with tuck- a scarves of handkerchief linen, piqué, or Anely pleated chiffon, HAT OF HOMBURG SHAPE A tallored costume of grey with
a faint self-coloured stripe fastens with a link button; it is to be worn with a blouse of alternate bands of white plqué and organdle, anely pleated and finished with a narrow neckband and piqué bo and a soft pull-on hat of grey telt of Homburg shape trimmed with narrow gros-grain ribbon. Such soft crushed felt hats will a variety of bright appear in colours, "to agree with blouses or other accessories. Masculine in- fluence is also illustrated in, square-toed, low-heeled shoes leather or suède, and in hand- stitched pull-on gloves.

Clothes By Vionnet
Madeleine Vionnet is not one who makes changes for their own sake. Her morning skirts, all cut on the cross, remain wide at the hem and fairly long. Her long coats are full and ample with high folded collars. Her tailor- made skirts are less full than those of her little dresses; with them are loose but not sacklike jackets rather longer than usual Shep- herd's plaid and other light little checked woollens are what she likes to work with; more often than not the Jacket differs from the skirt or dress. A shepherd'a plaid dress goes with a black vel- vet jacket; another has a black velvet cape with pillow-case shoulders. With figured crêpe. dinner dresses there are long, unlined Jacket, or double-breasted stop plain coats, with short cape ping short of the waist. With sleeves. these go
sleeveless blouses of pleated chiffon, net, or lace, high at the front and split at the back. Backless blouses of bright colour- ed crêpe, lame, or closely massed sequins have halter necks cut like sun-bathing suits. Other dinner sults have straight black skirts and Jackets of white or allver lamé or cloqué taffetas; they t closely, are buttoned from neck to waist, and end in a slightly flarea basque; the sleeves are long and tight, or are widened at the shoulders by close small pleats,
There are little dinner caps and bonnets of crinoline and tulle, with long fine veils. A small cap of tulle, with leaves of black satin all over the crown. is trimmed with a circular veil of fine lace Which falls to the shoulders.
