Notwithstanding the eve of the Chinese New Year, great enthu- slasm was again shown for the buying side of our market during he week under review, the prin- cipal reature being the sharp rise China Lights, which reached a new high level since 1934. Issues were generally firmer, Star Ferries rose steadily to a buying rate of $95. Hong Kong Electrics. opened with sales at $75. closing Arm with buyers at $741 cash and $75.75 March. Telephones (o{d} Improved slightly with business done during the week up to $27, but due to some pigft-taking for Settlement were offering at $26.35 at the close. Dairy Farms were better with sales effected at $22 Hong Kong Lands changed hands at $35.80/36.00 and Wharves (old) at $104. Minor Issues again ruled firmer Providents (old) Improv
