The Club senior certainly gave South China "A", potential Champions a fright last week in their initial league encounter when the Home team lost to the Chinese by the odd goal in three. But for the poor shooting ability of the Club forwards the reverse might had been the result, as it was South China "A" just scrap- ed home by the narrowest margin.
The Royal Welch Fusiliers were decidedly unlucky in giving away both points to the Recreto when after more than holding their own they had the misfortune to lose Keneghan, their stal-
wart pivot who broke his leg.
Sunday's game between South China. "B" and the Athletic pro- duced football of a high order but the abundance of petty fouls rob- b.d the game of much of the in. terest.
However the result was quite a fair indication of the run of play
with the Athletle to-day.
There
are several players 'who are up to Mrs Division standard but as a first division team plenty of in-, provement Is necessary. The Athletic is a sound well-balariced team and ought to win.
