London advis- cd American purchases for Spot and operations on both sides of the market for account of India. China was a seller. The market closed with a steady feeling, al- though on the quiet side. There was no change in the American rate of 654.
Dollars were quoted in London at 4.971 but the rate in New York on London was slightly higher t 4973. m both instances rates were slightly lower than on the previous day.
