Many Accidents Yesterday

A chapter of accidents are con- tated in the reports to Police Headquarters yesterday evening.

The first one concerns injuries received by a Chinese lad, who is reported to, have been hit by motor. car driven by Dr. Farr of the Government Civil Hospital. The latter states that while driv ing along Second Street yesterday, a Chinese lad dashed across the road and ran into his car and sus- tained injuries to his head and leg. Dr. Farr at once removed the injured lad to the Government Civil Hospital where he was de- tained. The injured iad is stated to be residing at No. 62 Second Street, and is 9 years of age.

It will be recalled that Mr. Gareth Jones. the well-known British newspaper correspondent was captured by handils near Fuochang, near Mongolia, on July 25, together with Dr. Herbert Mueller who was subsequently released in order to make the necessary arrangements for the ransom to be paid over.

Since Mr. Jones' capture, many reports had been circulated regarding his whereabouts while Chinese and Manchukua troops helped in the efforts to track the bandits down,
