Silver prices yesterday for both deliveries, the quotations remaining at 20 3/16 for Ready and 304 for Forward. Advice received reported China as having sold. America bought. The market closed steady. After the official fixing there were further buying at the fixed rates but no sellers,
In America the rate was 1121- changed at 672 for spot.
The London/New York CEOSS- rate was lower at 496 and the New York/London rate was also lower at 496.
There were a couple of changes in the official rates this morning, the "quotations were as follows:- Market Opened steady but subsequently eased off slightly. Towards the close the market was again on the arm side.
Sterling
Opened with sellers at 2/14 with business done subsequently at 2/1 5/16 for August followed by tran- sactions at the same rate for sec- ond half of August, 2/17 for sec- ond half of September and also September. The market then eas- ed off slightly and offers at 2/14 were accepted for August delivery and also for second half of Aug- ust. Towards the close the mar- ket fired up again and business was done at 2/1 6/18 for second dalf of August, 2/11 for second half of September and 2/1 5/18 for cash finishing with sellers at 2/1 5/18 for August and 2/13 for September, buyers at 1/18 higher respectively.

To- wards the close the market TE- acted and business was done at 53 3/16 for cash and 52 5/16 for September. The market closed with sellers at 524 for August and 52 5/16 for September,, buyers at 1/18 higher respectively.
