Demonstration Of Loyalty

HOW ANNIVERSARY

WAS OBSERVED

Jubilee Day In Hong Kong dawned bright and cheerful and as a result the Colony was in its rayest mood. Alt buildings in the Island as well as in Kowloon and "the ships in harbour were dressed for the occasion and in its Jubilee, garb Hong Kong presented a pic“ ture which 'has never had 2 parallel.

Graceful Tribute To The King

The Chiness community demonstrated in no uncertain man- ner their friendliness towards the British when they staged their procession yesterday and it would be no exaggeration to say that all Hong Kong turned out to watch what must be the greatest spectacle of its kina aver saged in the Calony.

The procession was timed to start from Belcher's Street at 11 am. hat long before that hour the streets through which it was to pass were thronged with sightseers, all eager to secure good positions to watch it go by.

It was indeed a brilliant show and the Chiness' people have good reason to be proud of their display which `, will go down in the annals of the history of the Colony as a gracious tribute to their Majesties the King and Queen from their Chinese friends...

Hong Kong by night was · a *veritable fairyland of multi- coloured lights, the quaint Chinese lanterns coupled with the brilliant Illuminations providing a picture which will be stamped indelibly in the memory of all who have had the good fortune of seeing it.

to

the Throne of His Most Gracious Majesty King George V. In offering thanks that he has so long been spared to guide our destinles, we at the same time pray God that he may long con tinue to do so.
