Introduces New Procedure

London, Ap. 24.

It is officially announced that all dealings in silver in the London Metal Exchange between members will be subject to weekly settle- ments for a trial period of three months. The 'Committe, however, is authorised to order special set- tlémenis.

The weekly settlement price will be axed on Wednesdays at the close of the first session, payments being made on the following Fri- day special settlements will not be called on Saturdays.

Members are required to make similar conditions with their clil- ents. The first weekly settlement prices will be fixed on Wednesday. May 8.

Daily settlements and clearings will be carried out identically with Copper and Tin, that is to say, "prompts" falling due on a Satur day will be settled and cleared a day previous to prompts falling due on the Sunday or Monday fol lowing.

Members must arrange with their clients in such a way that they (the members) will be pro- tected for the weekly settlements of exchange, either by the same arrangement with clients or by the maintenance of a ten per cent minimum deposit. Reuters
