SECOND DAY

Before asking Lady Southorn to present the prizes Mr. Ng Sze Kwong said that they were fortun- ate in having Lady Southern with them that day, adding that Lady Southern, was a keen helper in the Children's Playground Association. He dwelt on the successes of the Club's tennis teams and congratu- lated Tsui Wai Pul on winning the Club's Singles tennis Champion- ship on three successive years, thus winning the Cup outright. The Club has taken up Badminton and had entered two teams in the league and Lawn Bowls would soon be one of the favourite pastimes of the members of the Club2.

KUI had Д good chance to equalise when well placed but shot into Marques' outstretched 'hands. Play was confined to the Club's territory and Gomes seizing an opportunity from a rebound shot weil out of Rodger's reach....-.

Some clever foot work was seen in the second half when Gomes and B. Gosano indulged in some nice short passing bouts and it was the latter who scored the third goal. Attacking Club was award- ed a penalty and Elliot converted. Again, in

nice combination

the between B. Gosano and Gomes,

former scored. Towards the end another penalty against V. Marques was taken by Howe who made no mistake.

GUNNERS OUTPLAYED As expected the Royal Artillery

who ran out winners by the score o: 3 goals to one. The game was contested very strongly in the in- tial stages with the advantage slightly in favour of the Fusiliers.

Mr. Justice R. E. Lindsell, in a short speech referred to the ex-proved no match for the Fusiliers; cellent record of the C. R. C in the Tennis League. He congratulated them on the very efficient manner "in which they had organised the Open Mixed Doubles Champion- ship, and also congratulated ed the winners, L. Goldman and Miss R. Hancock, adding that he was sor- ry. that they were. not present. On behalf of the guests, he thar.ked the Committee for their splendid hospitality, which was known all over the Colony.

Mr. Ng Sze-Kwong then called on Lady Southorn to distribute the prizes, following which she was the recipient of a bouquet of flowers from little Miss Chlu Chun-chin, daughter of the well-known lady player.
