NAVY'S CHALLENGE CHECKED

"A feature of the week-end cricket was the fine display by P. 0. Dunne of the Kowloon Cricket Club, who, playing against the University in a Junior League encounter, scored 114 runs before he was bowled by G. Abraham.

The Royal Navy, closest challengers to the Hong Kong C.C. for the Premier League honours, were checked by the' Club de Re- crelo. The only other Premier League' game played was that be- tween the University and Kowloon Cricket Club which ended in a draw.

Four games were played in the Junior Division. The Kowloon Cricket Club defeated the University by 9 wickets; playing at home to the Service Corps, the Police were beaten by 5 wickets while the Royal Engineers had a comparatively easy win over the Civil Service at the Valley Ground. The Royal Navy accounted for the Club de Recreio by 68 runs.

The Hong Kong Cricket Cluh and the Indian Recreation Club senior and junior elevents were engaged in friendly matches. The game between the senior sides at Sookunpoo was won by the visitors, while the Juniors played a drawn game.
