Case To Be Heard

The hearing of the case in which Frederic Barretto and Lutz An- tonio da Rocha are charged on three counts in connection with the alleged kidnapping of Luiz Ribeiro, aged six years, from No. 7. Hanoi Road, was mentioned in Mr. E. W? Harillion's court again yes- terday.."
Mr. J. A. Fraser, Assistant At- torney General, appeared for the Crown. He stated that he would not give an outline of the case be- cause at this stage the investiga- tions of the Crown had still Uttle way to go. He would be ready to proceed in a week's time and mentioned that the evidence for the Crown would be relatively brief.
His Worship, said he would start the case on December 28 on the assumption that it would go for trial to the Criminal Sessions,
Mr. Fraser replying, maid his opening of the case would assist His Worship on that point, but, so far as he knew at the moment, it would not be a case in which His Worship would have to commit.
Mr. Fraser further stated that it would be dimcult to outline the case just yet, because he did not know what the outcome of further | investigations would be.
HONG KONG LAD'S SUCCESS
Ian Herridge, son of F. G. Her- ridge, Secretary of W. R: Loxley & Co. (China), Ltd, has just won à Senior Scholarship at Haileybury College. At present he is com. pleting course covered by a Junior scholarship which he had previously won for that College.
Young Herridge was born in Hong Kong and many friends of The family will undoubtedly be pleased to read of his success.

At Yaumati School
The Yaumati School held Its Annual Prizegiving function yes- terday morning when Mrs. Mycock kindly presented the prizes, before a large gathering.
In his report the Headmaster Mr. Charles Mycock, said that "with"a" maximum enrolment of 2% boya there was a daily average "attendance of 254.4 The disci- and the pline was satisfactory health of the boys generally show-- ed the benent the boys were re- ceiving from their attendances at the Clinic.
Of 248 candidates presented at the examinations, 213 pässed. The boys were exceptionally good. at composition, a result which was due in no small measure to the Introduction of the New Method Readers.
A healthy activity in sporta was maintained throughout the year in the usual inter-class Volley ball and Football competi- tions. The school was Runners- up in the Kowloon Basket-ball Lengue.
