de Martin yesterday evening at iman community in Hong Kong the Jacobean Room of the Hong presented an Old German Christ-Kong Hotel to a large and appre- mas Play. The play had been given in Hong Kong before by the German community in 1930 and 1931 and the fact that it was yes- terday presented to a very full at- tendance testined to the excellence of the play. The scenes of the Na- tivity with which we are all fami- ilar, need not be repeated here. It is sufficient to say that in both the acting and singing a high standard was reached and all who saw the presentation agreed that it was, from every point of view, thorough success.

THE BLACK PRINCE
To Be Restored To Its Original Glory
(Special Air Mail Service)
London, Nov. 30.
а
The famous effigy of the Black Prince in Canterbury Cathedral is to be restored to its original glory, following a remarkable discovery made by Professor E. W. Tristram, of the Royal College of Art, Bouth Kensington.
"A table of laton overgilt. upon which we will that an image in reileved work of laton glit shall be placed in memory of use, all armeð in steel for battle, with our arms quartered, and my visage with our helmet of the leopard under the head of the image."
Mr. de Martin traced in detail the life and writings of Niccolo Machiavelli who flourished at the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 18th Centuries. Machiavelli gained his eminent place in history, not as a man of action, not on account of what he did, but on account of what he wrote and thought.
At the close of the lecture à hearty vote of thanks was tender- ed to Mr. de Martin on behalf of the audience by Mr. H. C. Mac-
Hamara.
