A new British gliding record was set up by Mr. G. E. Collins, of the London Gliding Club, during a fight yesterday from Dunstable Downs to Wells-next- 2the-Sea, near Hunstanton, a dis- 1 tance of 95 miles. Mr. Collins,

The flight was 40 miles longer than the previous British record set up by Mr. P. A. Wills, another member of the London Gliding Club on March 18, when he flew from Dunstable to Latchington, Essex. Mr. Collins dared not risk being carried beyond the coast and into the North Sea, so he looped to reduce altitude, and landed on the beach. Mr. Collins is the only British holder of
