The "Yards" New Chief?

(Special Air Mail Service)

It is being suggested that next { year Lord Trenchard may go to the Air Ministry to supervise the creation of the new R.AF. squad- rons, writes a correspondent.

I understand that the Home Office have already considered the question of Lord Trenchard's suc- cessor at Scotland Yard and that their choice is likely to fall ́on Capt. P. J. Silltoe, the present -Chief Constable of Glasgow.

Captain Saitoe is a rigid dis- ciplinarian and has firm convic tions of his own which he is not afraid to put into practice..

Since he went to Glasgow, in 1931, he has created new schemes for police efficiency which are now being copied by many other cities.
