The" 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Highland` and Agricultural Society was celebrated last night at a dinner in Edin burgh.

Walter Elliot, the Minister of Agriculture, was the principal speaker.

SCOTTISH COMMAND

Sir Percy was formerly Com- mander-in-Chief of the Scottish Command, and ..he succeeded General Sir Cecil Romer to the Southern Command in December, 1932.

The son of the late General Sir W. Follexfen Radcliffe, Sir Percy was educated at Winchester and at the Royal Military College Woolwich. He served in South Africa in 1898 and in France during the Great War. He was mentioned in despatches six times and he was knighted in 1930.

He was Director of Military Operations from 1918 to 1922, and was appointed to the Scottish Command in 1930.

Sir Percy married Mrs. Florence Alice Haggle, daughter of Major J. Tagg and widow of Mг. P. N. B. Haggle in November, 1932. The
