Generally speaking, there are three types of skin the greasy, the dry, and the normal—and as the greasy is the most usual, and the most aggravating, We Will start with that.
What this type requires Drat and foremost is stimulating and toning. The condition is
a re-
laxed one, and it must be traced to function if the glands are normally..
The best way of cleansing a with greasy skin is to wash it soap and water. Choose a good soap, use rain-water if possible. and, if not, put a pinch of borax into the ordinary water to soften it. Soap the face well, then rinse thoroughly, and rub briskly with a complexion glove.

To allow cream to remain on a greasy skin is a mistake. It re- laxes the pores and aggravates the trouble.

To meet this fancy, Paris has designed trim frocks in printed satins. In designs of tal- lored strictness, Skirts are ankle length, sleeve are long, necks are high in front but a deep V des- cends to the waist at the back.
Some of the evening gowns had bodices carried in a straight line from under the arm to the waist. Thus the term 'back panel' can be taken in a strictly literal sense. On the other hand, as stated above, the deep V décolletage at the back is also popular.
Reptile skins
One feature of the fashions this Spring, as interpreted in London, is the use of reptile skins. Snake skin is to make its appearance in at dinner the ballroom and parties. A black satin evening gown on show has a strand of and cobra skin, dyed blood-red waxed, carried up to the shoulder on one side. The other side also was trimmed with cobra dyed spinach green. Reptile skins pre- pared for fashionable uses during the coming spring are dressed and treated until they are, as soft as suede. Puff adder skins are used to trim sports and travel skins.

At the beginning lies the matter of cleanliness. Because We have washed our hands automatically since childhood, it does not necessarily follow that we realise all the Ane points in Do you, for example, doing it. always use a soap you know to be pure, water that is luke warm, never too tot, nor too cold, follow this with a rinse in cooler water and a thorough trying with a soft towel? Do you put on a lotion every time you wash your hands? Every detail of this thorough, careful cleansing is of great importance if you want good looking hands.
As for the choice of soaps there are dozens of good makes to choose from. You can not do better than use one of the toilet soaps of English make, which make the skin, feel soft and vel- vety. There is a special favourite which leaves you with a fresh mild kind of fragrance that does not confict with any perfume you may be using. For those who work in the garden and get really grimy hands (one should, of course, wear gloves, but what confirmed digger will use them on?) there is a pleasant dirt removing soap that will remove layer after layer without taking off the skin. When your hands are perfectly groomed you can turn your atten- tion to your nails. And that in these days is a matter of vast importance. The day when your manicurist asked you"light or dark põlish?" is a dead day. Now, the cholce leg among six or seven shades. One of the best, polishes can be had in rose, pale coral, deep rose as well as white, natural and other shades. The decision should rest upon what you have on, and how the polish looks with your skin. A true garnet may make your hands look as angels' white coral might be just the tone to make them look sallow. Bal- mon-pink nails will be lovely with a blue costume A deep dazzling red at night with white. The blood shades are brilliant and decorative for evening, but a little too violent for the light of day. The true clear colour is what you want in your polish in the end, no matter what shade you choose. And, if you go in for complemen- ting your costume colours, here
a rule. For bright, high cos“. fume colours choose neutral shades of polish, with a special eye out for red; and with neutral and soft, shaded clothes, bright ones. If your nails are ridged, a deep polish accentuates this, while a light polish will minimise it..
Of course, the ideal manicure procedure is to have a professional manicure every week, and to take care of your nails yourself' in between. The next best thing is to do it all yourself with all the thoroughness and finish of the expert The thing is to watch out
