How unscrupulous spirit-med- "employ sleight-of-hand jums" tricks to dupe the gullible out of large fortunes yearly is de- monstrated in "Supernatural" a tale of the spirit world, which comes to the Central Theatre. soon with Carole Lombrad, Rand- olph Scott, H. B. Warner and Vivienne Osborne in the leading roles,

"Supernatural" is a sympathe- tic story of spiritualism, but one of the major characters in the story is a "phoney" spiritua list. who toys with forces and does not comprehend. The film reveals how he uses various tricks to pro- duce apparent spirit effects.

A brass trumpet, thrown casu- ally on the table, starts to utter words apparently from spirits, a table floats, spirit: messages are written mysteriously on a slate: spirit rappings are heard; and numerous other phenomena take place. The film shows how he does them all

'The story centers around Miss Lombard, a wealthy young hei- ress, who, upon the death of a beloved twin brother, becomes easy prey for a fake-spiritualist a tole played by Allan Dinehart. In the meantime, Miss: Osborne, betrayed to the police by Dine hart, is executed in the electric- chair for murder. H. B. Warner, as psychologist, is attempting an experiment upon the murderess to prevent her, spirit from wreak- ing the revenge which he is sure it is plotting. But the experiment goes amiss, and the spirit of the murderess enters into the body of Miss Lombard, and plans to use. the girl to wreak vengeance on Dinehart.

But the strange part of it is that Ahmang, himself, doesn't rea- ize it. In fact, he doesn't, even know he is an actor...

It all happened this way. Ward Wing who directed "Samarang." spent days and days searching the various tribes in the Malay Penin- sula for a hero for the story which he was going to make. He, was very meticulous about the type he selected The reason for that was the fact that his wife, Lori Bara, had written the story and had a dennite rind picture of her hero.

Mae West At The Queen's

Solely on the strength of per- sonality, Mae West is about one of the strongest screen attractions to-day. Her latest pleture. "I'm No Angel" now playing at the an absolute Queen's theatre is record breaker. In this film she Is cast as the "cooch" dancer of a side show, then the star of a big circus, and later as the restred lady of Teisure, whose only occupa- tion is to snare willing men. It is decidedly Miss West's ploture. Cary Grant is the hero of the story. he is involved in a breach of 'promise action in which Mae West sues for heart balm. The courtroom scene is the high light of the picture. This is great en- tertainment and we strongly re- commend it for a couple hours of diversion.
