There were many visitors to Shek Wui Hui over the week-end when the new Territories" Agricultural Associa tion held their Annual Show. The entries were very good indeed and some of the exhibits reached a satisfactory standard.
In addition to the show, there was a programme of theatricals and musical entertainment while lectures were also delivered. The gates were opened at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday morning and the exhibits were judged ben tween 11 and 12.30.
At 2.30 p.m. the Hon. Mr. J. P. Braga performed the opening ceremony and in the course of his speech said: "It is no prophetic prediction when I state that the day will come when the inhabitants of Hong Kong will look upon the farmers of the New Territories as a very important asset of the Colony. He encouraged the farmers to employ modern methods and stated that there was plenty of room in the markets of Hong Kong for a larger production from the New Territories.
