PETROLEUM WAR

Effect Of Price

A ̈ compromise may shortly be reached between the Big Six and Mr. Matakata in regard to his Soviet oil. The Japanese Press says that the gasoline war has now reached its last phase, and that Baron Nakashima, Minister of Commerce and Endustry. is ready to come to the fore as mediator.
The recent price competition between the two parties has been so serious that it dangered the petroleum industry in this country and threatened to hamper the "Government plan of establishing a national fuel policy, Baron Nak- ashima then made a gesture to act as mediator and, as a matter Regarding sales, the whole of

Azië Lands - Limited, has received the following report form their Now York correspondents, & A. Pierce & Co. The market was heavy again with a pronounced weakness at the second hour. We believe traders are disposed to continue their cautionary attitute until the list shows ability to re-establish stability.
Wheat: Scattered selling and long liquidation did not cover stop-loss orders in the early session. Later there was a fair rally, with final figures, little changed from yesterday.
Cotton: The market was small affair with no important trading either way. We still believe that prices will eventually go higher and would take advantage to set-backs to make purchases.
Silver: Trading was very light. Lately very little silver has been offered from London.
